It is your choice

Life’s choices come in many forms. Consequently they are sometimes easy and sometimes hard. They are sometimes clear and sometimes confusing. They are sometimes major and sometimes minor. They are sometimes voluntary and sometimes forced upon us.

When a person is confronted by the Gospel of Jesus Christ, he will have to ultimately make a choice. That choice will be based upon the Bible’s dual presentation of the Lord Jesus Christ.

In Acts 4:10-12, Christ is presented as the Savior of men: "Be it known unto you all, . . . that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God hath raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." The salvation of any sinner is solely on the basis of personal faith in Jesus Christ. It comes about by acknowledging one’s sin and receiving Jesus Christ, by faith, as personal Savior.

In Acts 17:30, 31, Christ is presented as the Judge of men: ". . . God . . . now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead." It is clear that the unrepentant sinner who refuses to receive Christ as Savior will face Him as Judge.

Could anything be more fair? The One Who bore the sins of the world in His own body on the cross, having been rejected by unappreciative and unrepentant sinners, is appointed by God to be the Judge of such sinners. So, out of pure fairness, this is the way it should be.

Now to your choice: as a thus-far unrepentant sinner, you can accept Jesus Christ as your own personal Savior and He will give you everlasting life. It is your choice. Or, you can reject Him as your Savior until the end of your life and face Him as your Judge. His decree will be "Guilty!" and His sentence will be eternal damnation in the Lake of Fire. It is your choice.

But you say, "I cannot make such a momentous choice!" Some choices are made by not making a choice. By not receiving Christ as your Savior, you are accepting Him as your Judge. By not making a choice to receive Him as your Savior, you are making a choice to stand before Him as your Judge. By not choosing salvation and Heaven, you are choosing damnation and Hell. The choice is yours to make. I plead with you to make the only sensible one, and I urge you to make it now before it is too late.
