Resolution the One True Gospel
WHEREAS,
mankind is frequently inventing new religions and offering
ways outside the teachings of the Bible for people to
express their worship and to find fulfillment; and,
WHEREAS,
since the September 11 terrorist attack on the United
States people of multiple faiths have been seen gathering
together in prayer, conveying the idea that the one true
God honors all these faiths, or else conveying the idea
that there are multiple gods in existence cooperating
together to honor these multiple faiths; and,
WHEREAS,
the God of the Bible says that He is one LORD (Deut. 6:4),
and that no other gods exist to rival Him (Isa. 44:6);
and,
WHEREAS,
the Bible declares that there is only one faith, and one
way unto God through His Son, Jesus Christ (Eph 4:5, 6; Jn.
14:6; 3:16; I Tim. 2:5); and,
WHEREAS,
the previously mentioned religious inventions and
cooperative worship are dangers to people's souls by
directing their attention away from the truth of the
Bible, and therefore away from a true relationship with
God; and,
WHEREAS,
the Bible severely condemns anyone who perverts the gospel
of Christ or teach another gospel (Gal. 1:7-9); and,
WHEREAS,
the attempted cooperation of believers and unbelievers in
worship or service unto the God of the Bible is, in fact,
and unequal bond and is forbidden (II Cor. 6:14-16);
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED that we, the members of the Ohio Bible
Fellowship, meeting at the 2001 Fall Conference on October
12, 13 at Calvary Baptist Church in Willard, Ohio, do
grieve with our Lord over the sinful condition of our
nation and of our world. And over the deceitfulness of
teachings which oppose the Bible; and,
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we inform and exhort our churches
concerning the dangers of unscriptural unified religious
endeavors, and that we, with our churches, determine to
obey the teachings of the Bible to avoid such unequal
cooperation (II Cor. 6:14-18); and
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we rededicate ourselves to the
bold, compassionate proclamation of the one true gospel of
the God of the Bible to those of all racial, social,
national, personal, and religious backgrounds who are lost
in sin, and cry out God's invitation to them "Look unto
me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am
God, and there is none else" (Isa. 45:22).
