Resolution on the Twenty-fifth Anniversary of the Ohio
Bible Fellowship
Whereas the Ohio
Bible Fellowship was born January 12, 1968 at the Bible
Community Church of North Mentor;
And Whereas
this makes our current gathering to be the twenty-fifth
anniversary meeting of the Ohio Bible Fellowship;
And Whereas an
anniversary is a time to look back at the beginning of an
organization, to look around at the benefits which have
been enjoyed from it and to look ahead at the need for its
continued testimony;
And Whereas the
founding of the Ohio Bible Fellowship was the result of
growing new evangelicalism in our former fellowship, the
Independent Fundamental Churches of America;
And Whereas
our founders, after several years of seeking to arrest
this trend, came to the conviction that separation was the
only answer to the widening chasm between brethren;
And Whereas,
for the last twenty-five years, God has blessed the Ohio
Bible Fellowship with the strengthening fellowship of
like-minded men, with the ministry of the Ohio Bible
Mission, with the provision of Peniel Bible Camp, with the
ministry of the Ohio Bible Fellowship Visitor and with the
development of the Bible Institute of Ohio;
And Whereas,
God has given us a ministry of strengthening biblical
fundamentalism by exposing the menace of new
evangelicalism and encouraging others to take a stand in
these days of spiritual decline;
And Whereas,
God has been pleased to use the Ohio Bible Fellowship
Visitor to help men and churches far beyond the bounds of
our fellowship;
And Whereas
God has seen fit to keep our fellowship true to its
position and purpose over the course of twenty-five years,
even though every human organization has within itself the
seeds of its own spiritual decline;
Be It Hereby
Resolved that we, the pastors and people of the Ohio Bible
Fellowship, on the occasion of this twenty-fifth
anniversary, thank God for keeping our movement, for
giving us a ministry and for providing all of our needs
over the years;
And be it
further resolved that we seek to keep our movement true to
its purpose for more years of service by renewing our
commitment to the biblical truth of separation from the
apostasy of our enemies and the new evangelicalism of our
professed brethren, and that we carefully teach this
conviction to our churches;
And be it
further resolved that we keep the ministry of the Ohio
Bible Fellowship Visitor distinctively separatist in order
to help those who need to separate from apostasy or new
evangelicalism and those who need to have their own
fundamentalist conviction strengthened.
And be it
further resolved that, as we have sought to obey God's
command in II Corinthians 6:17,
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye
separate, saith the Lord and touch not the unclean thing;
and I will receive you,
God has kept to us His promise in II Corinthians 6:18,
And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and
daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
